Welcome to Holdenville General Hospital, located in rural Hughes County, Oklahoma, population 14,000. Holdenville General Hospital opened in 1969 as a 45-bed medical/ surgical hospital. With the addition of the Physician’s Clinic in __2000___, the facility downsized to a 36 bed general acute care hospital.
In May of 2002, the hospital suffered a devastating fire and underwent a major renovation reopening in June of 2003 as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital.
In addition, to provide necessary medical services to the surrounding rural communities, Holdenville General Operates a Rural Health Clinic, located within the facility, Physician’s Health Clinic on campus, and Allen Health Clinic, located in Allen, Oklahoma.
Holdenville General Hospital’s primary service area includes most of Hughes County, and portions of Pontotoc, Coal, and Seminole Counties. Approximately 58% and 24% of Holdenville General Hospital’s patients originate from the cities of Holdenville and Wewoka, respectively. The organization currently has a total of 133 regular employees. The hospital also employs two physician assistants and four physicians. There are a total of six active staff and nine physician specialists utilizing Holdenville General Hospital’s outpatient Specialty Clinic as members of our consulting staff.
Holdenville General Hospital is a Medicare certified provider licensed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, with CLIA certified Laboratory services. The hospital is a proud member of the Oklahoma Hospital Association, and the American Hospital Association.
